Ida Grove Elementary School

Ida Grove Kindergarten is currently learning about the world’s seven continents. Rachel Masters, a teacher in our district, recently went on an exciting trip to Africa. She shared her experience and some photographs with the students. Also, Maryna Onoh shared about Europe and some of its beautiful countries. 💙💛 Huge thank you to both of these ladies for taking the time out of their days to enrich the lives of our young learners. 🗺️✈️

On Teacher Appreciation Day we would like to thank our teachers for the critical role they play in educating and shaping our children into the future leaders of our country. Let us recognize their time, dedication, and lasting contributions. THANK YOU TEACHERS!

REMINDER: Due to a 3pm start time for the Middle School track meet today, we will dismiss school at 2:30pm. This will allow time to clear the high school parking lot while also keeping our District-wide transportation schedule consistent.

We would like to thank the professionals who keep our buildings running smoothly every day. To our secretaries, administrative assistants, and other administrative support professionals, thank you for keeping us organized and efficient!

Today, we are recognizing all school bus drivers for taking care of our precious cargo during the school year. Whether they are transporting our kids to school, home, activities, or to sporting events, school bus drivers deserve recognition for the job they do.

During library class, Ida Grove Elementary Kindergarten listened to and discussed Eric Carle's book, The Tiny Seed. When given time to build with click blocks, several students chose to build their own version of a flower from the book.

OABCIG Elem in Odebolt and Middle School is hosting their annual Scholastic book fair March 18-21. Information packets and wish lists were sent home with K-5 students on March 13 or 14. This event is open to the public from 2:30-7:30 on March 19 and 2:30-7:00 on March 21. *Books pictured are about 15% of what is available!

OABCIG Elementary Students had a very special afternoon today, as they were entertained by the Des Moines Opera Iowa troupe! 4th and 5th graders all attended a workshop to learn more about what these entertainers do. Then all the K-5th graders got to watch as they performed "Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing"! Tonight, you can all come watch as these fabulous performers show off their skills in "Beauty and the Beast" at the High School Auditorium $5 at the door Doors open at 6:30 Show starts at 7 PM
