Breakfast is available for purchase each morning of school from 7:45 until school starts. Regular access to a healthy school breakfast is one of the best ways to support student's ability to learn and their overall well-being.

OABCIG Ida Grove Elementary Presidential Awards
The 2024 Presidential Academic Awards were given out at Awards Day, Thursday morning, May 23, at the OABCIG Ida Grove Elementary Gymnasium. There are two types of Presidential Awards. The Award for Educational Excellence is based on performance on math and/or reading on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) and grade point average. The Award for Educational Achievement is awarded to students who display outstanding educational improvement, commitment or intellectual development in their academic subjects, but does not meet the Excellence criteria. One achievement winner was selected from each 5th grade classroom.
Each award includes a certificate with the signatures of President Joseph Biden, the Secretary of Education, and OABCIG Ida Grove Principal Alan Henderson, and a pin that is sponsored by the OABCIG School District. Recipients included:

OABCIG Schools Chromebook Sale - UPDATE
**Chromebook pickup will occur June 3 & 4 from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Payment, cash or check, is expected at the time of pick up.
**Chromebooks can be picked up from EITHER the High School Library (Ida Grove) or the Odebolt building, in the Shop on the south west side of the building.

Rural Non-Congregate Summer Meals will be available again for the summer of 2024. We will serve grab and go style meals from both the Ida Grove Elementary and the Odebolt Elementary/Middle School buildings. Meals will be served from the front entrance/canopy area of the buildings. Meal pick-up times are 11:30-12:30 at both locations.
Meal service is only being offered from May 29-June 28.
Meals are FREE and for students/children only (18 & Under), no adult meals are being offered.
Meal would include the lunch (for that day) and the next day's breakfast.
Meal service is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 (will include Wednesday lunch & Thursday breakfast).

OABCIG Elementary-Ida Grove (Main Entrance) - 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
OABCIG Elementary/MS-Odebolt (Main Entrance) - 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
**Please note, students being bussed for summer school will be given a meal to take with them when they are bussed home. Parents will not need to pick up a meal for summer school students when summer school is in session.
**Parent/Guardian may pick up without the child being present.

Employees from Shelby County State Bank visited all three second grade classrooms for a Financial Literacy lesson. Students listened to a presentation on different services the bank provides, played a review game, and each received a $1 coin. Thank you SCSB for visiting our classrooms.

OABCIG Schools is retiring and selling our current Acer Chromebooks. We will be purchasing new devices for the next school year. These Acer Chromebooks were purchased on 2020 and have been used for the past four years. They have a touchscreen and will fold flat to be used in tablet mode. Each sale will include the Chromebook and charger. Some may come in a case, some may not. Each chromebook is $50.00.
The OABCIG IT department will assess each device before it is sold, however devices are being sold AS-IS and OABCIG will not warranty the device after payment and pick up.
